Sanity
So much stress in the air, especially this time of the year with all the 'things to do' lists. Slowing down and taking time to really reflect on what this holiday should be about requires being a little different. With questions, like "have you done your Christmas shopping, has the decorations been put up, and the cookies made, and don't forget all the Xmas parties that call for your attention.
Whew, so much pulling you in all directions. Time to reflect on what's really required of you, whether you are an empty nester like myself or one with small children. I suggest scaling back and view this holiday for what it's become a shopping frenzy which only benefits the retailers.
Maintaining your sanity during these early dark days with so much to do, requires looking at the benefits of scaling back on what you agree to do and participate in. Stand on the principles that being creative and making gifts with children means so much and will leave lasting memories. Making memories is really what matters most. I have fond memories of all the creative endeavors, my daughter and I made. I am sure she will say the same. Just a few tips to avoid the frenzy.
